Archaeology on tour
With the aid of Kulturbryggan, we took archaeology on tour in 2017. The idea was to present remote archaeology to the public – on their turf – by bringing the presentation of the excavation to them.
Together with Museiarkeologi Sydost – a part of Kalmar Läns Museum, we toured the archaeological excavation of Sandby Borg, a remote place on the island of Öland, Sweden.
Together with two experts we presented the excavation in bars and restaurants in Malmö in south of Sweden, Göteborg on the west coast and Stockholm on the east coast.
The response was overwhelmingly positive with full houses on each occasion. Arkeologiturnén is today a part of Arkeologibyrån where we hope to present more archaeological events to more people 🙂
