Uppåkra is a magical place situated on what feels like the top of the world, but in reality it probably wouldn’t even make it as a hill. The archaeological finds has yielded huge amounts of evidence from an iron age settlement, having historians believing Uppåkra to have been of major importance in its time.
Last week the Archaeological society of Uppåkra hosted an event, inviting the re-enactment groups Wulfheodenas and Vendthjod. On display was some metal working, some spectacular Sutton Hoo replicas, and a reading of Beowolf for the kids, to name a few. It was a gorgeous day and the turnout was amazing, hinting that the interest for archaeology is on a rise.
